Basketball Recap: Van Nuys' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Van Nuys had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 65-55 victory over the San Fernando Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-48 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Van Nuys to victory, but perhaps none more so than Beab Alemayehu, who posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Alemayehu continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Steven Tu was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards.

When it comes to explaining why San Fernando lost, don't look at Isaiah Cabrera. Despite the final result, he earned 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Robinson, who scored 12 points.

Van Nuys' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. As for San Fernando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Van Nuys wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-74 loss against Reseda on the 6th. As for San Fernando, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-46 victory against Panorama on the 6th.
