Gary waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the Tarkington Longhorns 73-57. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bobcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Longhorns are ranked 587th).

When it comes to explaining why Tarkington lost, don't look at Calvin Ellington. Despite the final result, he posted 33 points along with six boards and six steals. The matchup was Ellington's 11th in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Ferrell, who earned eight points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Gary's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Tarkington, they moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Gary didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-35 win against Corrigan-Camden on the 11th. As for Tarkington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-58 loss against Splendora on the 9th.
