Basketball Recap: Largo Takes a Loss

Largo and Sickles squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Largo had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Sickles Gryphons and fell 63-29. The contest marked the Packers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Sickles found their leader in sophomore Chase Weismiller, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Ov Nicholson, who posted six points and five steals.

Largo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Sickles, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.

Largo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sickles, they will square off against East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sickles' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.
