Alice piles up the points against Robstown

Recap: Alice Coyotes vs. Robstown Cottonpickers

The Alice Coyotes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Robstown at home to the tune of 86-40. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Alice with their most commanding win of the season.

Alice's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Rivera led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six assists and four steals. Rivera continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Calvin Villanueva was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

Alice's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Joaquin Molina got a bit more time on the court (17 vs. his season average of 5.96). Molina made the most of the opportunity, scoring seven points along with four steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Alice's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Robstown, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alice will square off against Harmony School of Excellence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alice has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Robstown, they will head out on the road to take on Tuloso-Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robstown is coming into the game with nine straight losses on the road, meaning Tuloso-Midway will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
