Softball Recap: Oak Harbor Finds Playoff Glory Versus Fairbanks

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oak Harbor had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fairbanks Panthers, sneaking past 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Rockets sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Morgan Lalonde made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. Lalonde was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Karder Haas was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Tatum Baumgartner, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Oak Harbor's victory bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Fairbanks, they moved to 23-3 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Oak Harbor nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
