Volleyball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Ursuline Fighting Irish. The Quakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Salem started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-14, 25-12, 27-25.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ursuline, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Salem will be playing at home against United at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Quakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ursuline, they will head out to face off against Canfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
