Soccer Game Preview: Lemont vs. Metea Valley + Official Tickets

The Lemont Lemont HS will take on the Metea Valley Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lemont is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Boylan Catholic just ended the team's seven-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Titans. While losing is never fun, Lemont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Boylan Catholic are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Metea Valley was forced to settle for a draw. They and Oswego East finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Ian Van Horn was the only thing that stood between Metea Valley and a shutout considering he scored both of Metea Valley's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Lemont's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4-1. Metea Valley's draw gives them a new season record of 5-12-1.

Lemont came out on top in a nail-biter against Metea Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Lemont HS have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
