Softball Game Preview: Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles vs. Highland Tech Rams

The Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Highland Tech Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pinnacle Classical Academy comes in on six and Highland Tech on four.

Last Thursday, Pinnacle Classical Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Community Christian Academy, taking the game 18-13.

Evie Hawkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and seven unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Layla Boone was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Pinnacle Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

While Highland Tech didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Shelby with a sharp 25-4 win on Friday. The matchup marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for Highland Tech, their record now sits at 6-3.

Everything went Pinnacle Classical Academy's way against Highland Tech in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Pinnacle Classical Academy made off with an 11-1 win.
