Football Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus lost against Grundy Center back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sailors took a blow against the Spartans, falling 41-7. While losing is never fun, the Sailors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Spartans are ranked second).

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Grundy Center, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will head out to square off against Lisbon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grundy Center, they will venture away from home to take on Dike-New Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
