Volleyball Recap: Cary Christian Triumphs

Cary Christian hadn't done well against Trinity Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Tigers on September 4th, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

The final score came out to 25-17, 15-25, 25-17, 27-25.

Cary Christian found their leader in sophomore Giovanna Kerlus, who had nine digs and two aces. Ava Patton also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Cary Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games.

The win got Cary Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Trinity Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Cary Christian will take on Wake Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Trinity Academy, they will square off against GRACE Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
