Preview: Hobart Brickies vs. South Central Satellites
The Hobart Brickies will be playing at home against the South Central Satellites at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Hobart came up short against Griffith and fell 64-54.
Despite the defeat, Hobart had strong showings from Anthony Hnilo, who scored 27 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals, and Aidan Leonard, who scored 15 points. Leonard scored a full 27.8% of Hobart's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, South Central couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheeler last Tuesday.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Derek Welsh, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayten Strauch, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Hobart's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Hobart took their win against South Central when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 59-39. Does Hobart have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
