Softball Game Preview: Hargrave Falcons vs. MacArthur Generals

The Hargrave Falcons will face off against the MacArthur Generals at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The last three games Hargrave has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hargrave took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Dayton 7-5.

Brooke Edevold was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jesse Watson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, MacArthur waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past Legacy Christian 7-5.

Maya Sanchez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vivian Reyes, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Trinity Chacon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

MacArthur was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.

The win got Hargrave back to even at 3-3. As for MacArthur, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
