Basketball Game Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Aliquippa Quips

The Forest Hills Rangers will challenge the Aliquippa Quips on Saturday. Forest Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 27 matchups -- so hopefully Aliquippa likes a good challenge.

Forest Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They took down Mohawk Area 59-45. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Warriors are ranked 111th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Forest Hills found their leader in sophomore Dylan Stohon, who went 10-for-19 to rack up 26 points and seven rebounds. Stohon's big performance that evening made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Gregovich, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Aliquippa took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 64-37 win over Mercer. The Quips have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Aliquippa's victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points over those games. As for Forest Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season.
