Volleyball Game Preview: Mansfield Tigers vs. Canutillo Eagles

The Mansfield Tigers will challenge the Canutillo Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canutillo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mansfield, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield took on Fossil Ridge on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 3-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Mansfield walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-7, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Canutillo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Franklin on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-10.

Mansfield skirted past Canutillo 2-1 when the teams last played back in August of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Eagles' Xochitl Apodaca, who had 23 digs and four aces.
