Baseball Game Preview: Northside Patriots vs. Starr's Mill Panthers

For the second straight game, Northside will face off against Starr's Mill. Northside will be playing in front of their home fans against Starr's Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Northside is returning to their home field after beating Starr's Mill on theirs, despite the fact Starr's Mill has dominated at home this season. Northside came out on top against Starr's Mill by a score of 8-3 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Patriots have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 1, 2021.

Northside got a great performance from Noah Thomason as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, Thomason posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last six games.

At the plate, Javion Windham was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Brody Wells was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Northside pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Starr's Mill, their defeat ended a 29-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.
