Soccer Game Preview: Niles North vs. Vernon Hills + How To Watch

The Niles North Vikings will face off against the Vernon Hills Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Niles North is headed into Tuesday's contest following a draw, the team's first since August 26. Neither they nor Zion-Benton could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw.

Meanwhile, Vernon Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Niles West. While losing is never fun, Vernon Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Niles West are ranked 120th).

With that draw, Niles North's record moves to 7-6-2. As for Vernon Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Niles North came out on top in a nail-biter against Vernon Hills in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
