Baseball Game Preview: Crosshill Christian Eagles vs. East Linn Christian Academy Eagles

Crosshill Christian will head out on the road to square off against East Linn Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosshill Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Crosshill Christian took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Monroe, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dragons on Friday, sneaking past 8-6.

Miles Lute made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Hinderks, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tayden Isaacson, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Crosshill Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, East Linn Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Regis, falling 17-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 30, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Crosshill Christian pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for East Linn Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Crosshill Christian might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from East Linn Christian Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Crosshill Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
