Football Game Preview: Harvester Christian Academy Hawks vs. Community Christian Knights + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Jed Yarnall and Isaiah Lee are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Harvester Christian Academy Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Community Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Harvester Christian Academy's win against Central Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-26 victory over the Crusaders on Friday.

Meanwhile, Community Christian faced Young Americans Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights walked away with a 28-21 win over the Eagles.

A big part of Community Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Fredrico Jones and his top target Aiden Burton. Jones threw for 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes while Burton picked up 99 receiving yards and one TD. Those 228 passing yards gave Jones a new career-high.

Community Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jhamal Woodley and Nathan Casper. Woodley has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

Harvester Christian Academy's record is now 6-3. As for Community Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season.

Harvester Christian Academy took their win against Community Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 28-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
