Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wildcats vs. Heritage Hills Patriots

Mt. Vernon and Heritage Hills squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mt. Vernon had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Patriots. The Wildcats have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Stella Hall paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up nine kills. Hall got some help from Maiya Jones and her 17 assists. Hall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Heritage Hills found their leader in sophomore Kyra Bell, who had 12 digs.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Heritage Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-12 record this season.

Mt. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Hills, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Evansville Central on the 18th.
