Basketball Game Preview: Lyons Lions vs. Glenbard West Hilltoppers

The Lyons Lions will venture away from home to take on the Glenbard West Hilltoppers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lyons is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering York just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 52-49.

Meanwhile, Glenbard West made easy work of Glenbrook South on Tuesday and carried off a 62-36 victory. The Hilltoppers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Glenbard West has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Lyons, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Lyons took their win against Glenbard West when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 54-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lyons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
