Basketball Game Preview: Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators vs. StoneBridge Cavaliers

Having just played yesterday, the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators will head out on the road to face off against the StoneBridge Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Greenbrier Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Broadwater Academy.

Meanwhile, StoneBridge played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 82-43 loss at the hands of Hampton Christian Academy. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-24.

Greenbrier Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for StoneBridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Greenbrier Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against StoneBridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenbrier Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
