Basketball Recap: Columbia River Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hockinson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbia River). They put the hurt on the Hockinson Hawks with a sharp 106-80 victory on Wednesday. Given the Rapids' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Hawks are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Columbia River has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38 points. As for Hockinson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia River has already played their next game (against Woodland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hockinson has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Washougal.
