Softball Recap: JW North Triumphs

JW North posted their closest victory since May 17, 2025 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Ontario Christian Knights.

Anela Kinnevey was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Hiraoka, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Cece Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

JW North's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-9. As for Ontario Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Looking ahead, JW North will face off against Valley View at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Ontario Christian, they will be playing at home against Woodcrest Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
