Basketball Recap: Timber Creek Takes a Loss

Timber Creek has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 54-46 to the Judson Rockets on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Rockets are ranked tenth).

Despite the loss, Timber Creek still got an impressive performance from Jillian Topping, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Lashonda Reeves was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Timber Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.

Timber Creek's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Judson, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-1.

Timber Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-18 victory against Johnson on the 28th. As for Judson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-40 win against Tomball on the 27th.
