Volleyball Recap: Sylmar Takes a Loss

If Sylmar was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Van Nuys on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the Kennedy Cougars on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Sylmar was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Kennedy work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12, 20-25, 26-24.

Sylmar's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Kennedy, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Sylmar will head out to square off against San Fernando at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kennedy, they will take on Lakeview Charter in a tournament on Saturday.
