Baseball Game Preview: Newport Wildcats vs. Bellevue Tigers

Newport hasn't had much luck against Bellevue recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will head out to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Newport has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Newport is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 60th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They lost 16-0 to Calvary Christian.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bellevue took on Gallatin County on Wednesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 6-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-35. As for Bellevue, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.

Newport suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Bellevue in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
