Conifer came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Denver West Cowboys by a score of 27-19. While the Lobos didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Denver West's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alesha Munoz, who posted seven points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Shukri Hussein, who put up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Conifer's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Denver West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Conifer will take on Jefferson Academy in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Conifer's defense has only allowed 19 points per game this season, so Jefferson Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Denver West, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-33 defeat against Westminster on the 19th.
