Basketball Recap: Clark Takes a Loss

Clark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 32nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Coronado Cougars and fell 71-11. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Cougars are ranked 12th).

It was another big night for Scarlet Lopez, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and six steals for Coronado. Lopez has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Jones, who went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points.

Clark's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Coronado, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Clark has already played their next game (against Desert Oasis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Coronado has already played their next match, a 79-50 defeat against Centennial on the 23rd.
