Baseball Game Preview: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Bisbee Pumas

The Desert Christian Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Bisbee Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Desert Christian has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Bisbee will arrive with three straight victories.

Desert Christian lost 16-2 to Tombstone on Friday.

Caden Esquerra was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bisbee was able to grind out a solid win over Hayden on Thursday, taking the game 6-1.

Bisbee saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryceton Meyer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Meyer posted three RBI, the most he's had over his last nine games. Another was Ryan Rutherford, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Bisbee pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Desert Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Desert Christian couldn't quite get it done against Bisbee when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Can Desert Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
