Volleyball Recap: Vanguard Takes a Loss

If Vanguard was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of North Marion on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights came up short against the Gainesville Hurricanes on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered since August 28th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 25-8.

Adelaide Young paced Vanguard's offense, picking up seven kills. Young got some help from Dhruvi Patel and her ten assists. Vani Patel controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Vanguard's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Gainesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Vanguard and West Port will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Gainesville, they will head out to take on Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
