Baseball Recap: Martin County Has No Trouble Against Okeechobee

Martin County won the last time they faced Okeechobee and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Martin County Tigers put the hurt on the Okeechobee Brahmans with a sharp 18-2 victory. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Michael Sanchez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Perry, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he also posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Kamai Purce was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Martin County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Martin County and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Okeechobee, they now have a losing record of 1-2-1.
