Basketball Recap: Bryce Cooper Key Part of a Team Effort in Tigers Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Foxcroft Academy, Dexter was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the George Stevens Academy Eagles by a score of 49-42. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dexter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Cooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Cooper is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Ethan Doherty was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Dexter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for George Stevens Academy, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mattanawcook the next time they take the court. Dexter will host Mattanawcook at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while George Stevens Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
