After flying high against St. Michael on Wednesday, Pinon came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hopi Bruins on Saturday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Kenneth Willie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pinon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-2 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

Pinon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Hopi, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bruins beat Pinon by a score of 16-13 later that day.
