Softball Recap: Diamond Wildcats vs. Stockton Tigers
Diamond put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Stockton Tigers as the Diamond Wildcats made off with a 12-5 win. Considering Diamond has won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Caitlyn Suhrie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Suhrie was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Lauren Turner was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kabrie Parmley, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Diamond's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 31-0. As for Stockton, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diamond will face off against Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt.
