Softball Recap: Tahquitz Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Tahquitz, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the West Valley Mustangs on Friday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Titans have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Natalie Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Garcia, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one triple.

Tahquitz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Valley only posted an OBP of .348.

The victory got Tahquitz back to even at 5-5. As for West Valley, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Tahquitz will venture away from home to challenge San Gorgonio at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for West Valley, they have already played their next match, a 26-10 win against Nuview Bridge on the 7th.
