Baseball Recap: Desert View Wins Going Away Against Douglas

Desert View hadn't done well against Douglas recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went the Desert View Jaguars' way against the Douglas Bulldogs as the Desert View Jaguars made off with an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cristobal Lorta was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Joshua Valenzuela was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Desert View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in seven consecutive matches.

Desert View's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Douglas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Coincidentally, Desert View and Douglas will both be playing Salpointe Catholic the next time they take the field. Desert View will head out to face Salpointe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Douglas will head out to face them at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
