Preview: Northeastern Knights vs. Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles
After two games on the road, Northeastern is heading back home. They will take on the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Northeastern is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cambridge City Lincoln in Indiana (Northeastern is ranked 144th, while Cambridge City Lincoln is ranked 401st).
In what's become a running theme this season, Northeastern gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Winchester Community 54-19 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Northeastern has posted since December 13, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adysson Kircher, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Kircher has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addisen Mastriano, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Cambridge City Lincoln's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Union County at home and fell 61-22. Cambridge City Lincoln has not had much luck with Union County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Northeastern pushed their record up to 16-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.11 points. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16.
Everything came up roses for Northeastern against Cambridge City Lincoln in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 68-23 victory. With Northeastern ahead 47-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
