Volleyball Recap: Iowa-Grant Comes Up Short

Iowa-Grant lost against Mineral Point back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Pointers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Iowa-Grant took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-17, 25-18.

Layla Ritchie paced Iowa-Grant's offense, picking up seven kills. Ritchie got some help from Carly Shores and her nine assists. Presley Lehman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Sophie Miller was a one-woman wrecking crew For Mineral Point. as she had 16 assists and seven aces. That's the most assists Miller has posted over her last two matchups. Ava Ingwell was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.

Iowa-Grant's loss dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Mineral Point, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-4.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Iowa-Grant and Darlington will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mineral Point, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Southwestern on the 14th.
