Basketball Recap: Southwest Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Southwest rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Bacon County Raiders 82-50. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Chase Dupree was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-20 to rack up 28 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Ashley, who went 7-for-17 on his way to 17 points.

The victory was the tenth in a row for Southwest, bringing their record for this year to 24-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Bacon County, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.

Coming up, Southwest will host Banks County on Saturday. Banks County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Southwest likes a good challenge. Bacon County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
