Soccer Game Preview: Venice vs. Braden River

The Venice Indians will face off against the Braden River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Venice's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Venice is headed into Tuesday's match following a draw, the team's first since November 14. Neither they nor Imagine School at North Port could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Braden River, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Sarasota get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday.

Genavieve Agustin and Laila Johnston scored both of Braden River's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Braden River pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. Venice's draw makes their record 5-2-3 this season.

Venice suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Braden River when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
