Baseball Recap: Mt. Gilead Takes a Loss

Mt. Gilead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Elgin Comets, falling 9-2. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly seven runs.

Mt. Gilead's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Elgin, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Gilead will host Northmor at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Elgin, they will be playing at home against Colonel Crawford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
