Baseball Recap: Redondo Union Comes Up Short

Redondo Union was the 13-3 winner over Banning when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Redondo Union Sea Hawks fell just short of the Banning Pilots by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Sea Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Redondo Union got a good showing from Robby Zimmerman, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Redondo Union saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sola, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI was Sola's first of the season. Another was Parker Leoff, who got three hits from his three at bats.

Redondo Union now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Banning, their record now sits at an identical 2-3.

Looking ahead, Redondo Union will welcome Lawndale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawndale will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Redondo Union surely won't give up without a fight. As for Banning, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against South East on the 1st.
