Basketball Recap: St. Thomas Aquinas Piles Up the Points Against Bell Creek Academy

St. Thomas Aquinas saw some tournament action on Saturday. They blew past the Bell Creek Academy Panthers, posting a 78-37 win. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Clarence Westbrook Jr. produced another solid performance shooting 50% from the field to rack up 33 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Kellson (KJ) Sandi was another key player, going 8-for-12 on his way to 21 points and three steals.

St. Thomas Aquinas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bell Creek Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, St. Thomas Aquinas will be home for the holidays to greet Stranahan at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders will be up against the Mighty Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.44 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bell Creek Academy, they will head out to challenge Santa Fe Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
