Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Raiders vs. Jefferson County Warriors

The Northeast Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Jefferson County Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Northeast and five for Jefferson County.

Last Tuesday, Northeast didn't have quite enough to beat Rutland and fell 7-6.

Bryce Talley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Five bases. while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Josh Evans was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Jefferson County came up short against East Laurens on Wednesday, falling 17-4.

Jefferson County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Duncan, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Jayden Wilson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Northeast's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Northeast has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game.
