Volleyball Recap: HomeSchool Resource Center Triumphs

After losing to Calumet Christian the last time they met, HomeSchool Resource Center decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. HomeSchool Resource Center walked away with a 3-1 victory over Calumet Christian on Tuesday.

HomeSchool Resource Center had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Elijah Puthusseril paced HomeSchool Resource Center's offense, picking up 12 kills. Puthusseril got some help from Nick Dettlaff and his 20 assists. Dettlaff was also solid from the service line: he led the team with eight aces.

HomeSchool Resource Center's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. HomeSchool Resource Center will head out to take on Kankakee Trinity Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calumet Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against DeMotte Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
