Basketball Recap: Lucas Cole's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jamestown over Portersville Christian

Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 58-36 to Portersville Christian. If the Muskies were looking for revenge after losing 64-43 to Portersville Christian when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jamestown's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Cole, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Cole has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Justyn Graves, who had six points and six boards.

Jamestown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Portersville Christian, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Jamestown and Portersville Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Muskies will take on rival Commodore Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Portersville Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
