Football Recap: Minster Takes a Loss

Minster was the 41-14 winner over Africentric Early College when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats were outmatched by the Nubians and fell 48-20. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Nubians are ranked 317th).

Africentric Early College had a senior duo take command as Caleb Anthony gained 230 total yards and three touchdowns and Josh Smith rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs. Anthony really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Derron Gray Jr did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.

Minster's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Africentric Early College, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minster will challenge Anna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Africentric Early College, they will face off against St. Francis DeSales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
