Basketball Game Preview: Colony Titans vs. Los Altos Conquerors

The Colony Titans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Los Altos Conquerors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colony is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Colony is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Alta Loma just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves.

Despite their defeat, Colony saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Fende Thomas, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. Carter Johnson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Colony smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Los Altos didn't have too much trouble with Temple City on Tuesday as they won 64-48. Given the Conquerors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Rams are ranked 709th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Los Altos has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points per game. As for Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Colony came up short against Los Altos when the teams last played last Monday, falling 59-48. Can Colony avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
