Basketball Game Preview: Edward Little Red Eddies vs. Portland Bulldogs

Edward Little and Portland are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Edward Little Red Eddies will head out on the road to take on the Portland Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Edward Little is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Oxford Hills, who was ranked seventh at the time (Edward Little was ranked 20th). Edward Little fell just short of Oxford Hills by a score of 45-42 on Friday. The Red Eddies have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Portland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Lewiston by a score of 42-29 on Friday. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Portland's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for Edward Little, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Edward Little strolled past Portland in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 63-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edward Little since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
