New Albany is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Saturday. They will challenge the Seymour Owls at 11:00 a.m. New Albany is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

New Albany is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Warsaw on Friday. They lost 8-2 to the Tigers.

New Albany saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Rand, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Rand's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Seymour strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Salem get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory.

New Albany's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

New Albany couldn't quite get it done against Seymour when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
